Craigslist 2nd Ad Victim

November 26, 2011 by staff

Craigslist 2nd Ad Victim, The FBI is currently investigating whether a body discovered in a shallow grave in Akron, Ohio, is a second killing related to a fake Craigslist job ad.

Timothy Kern of Massillon, Oh. has been missing since Nov. 13.

FBI spokeswoman Vicki Anderson says that the body was found on Friday near the Rolling Acres shopping mall in Akron. The cause of death and identity of the victim are under investigation. Anderson says that the FBI is working under the supposition that the body could be that of a man who answered the ad.

Timothy Kern, 47, of Massillon, hasn’t been seen in over a week. He was last seen during the early morning hours of Sunday, November 13, in the Plain Township area. Kern posted a message about a “strange” job offer on Facebook on November 10:

“Just got one of the strangest job offers. A good offer but strange. The job is to watch over 680 acres south of cambridge. Odd jobs and such but mainly just secure it. Trailer, utilities, salary. Drawbacks? No cell phone service, kids are up here, and i have to move this sunday.”
