Couple Airline Cockroaches

Couple Airline C**kroaches, Charlotte based attorney Harry Marsh, and his fiancée, Kaitlin Rush a couple from North Carolina are suing AirTran Airways, in their suite they are claiming that the September 15th, Houston bound fight that they were on was infested with cckroaches.

Marsh and Rush claimed that cckroaches could be seen coming out of air vents and storage areas and when they confronted a flight attendant, the flight attendant placed her finger over her lips as if to say be quite. Marsh and Rush further claimed that the flight attendants ignored their concerns.

The couple reported that throughout the flight the cckroaches could be seen moving about. They are suing the airline for $100,000 plus the price of their ticket on the grounds of negligence, recklessness, intentional infliction of emotional distress, nuisance, fraud and unfair and deceptive trade practices.

The couple further reported that they had to discard some of their belonging for fear of their clothing being contaminated with roaches and possibly roach eggs. Rush claimed that she became nauseous as well other passengers over the event and now does not want to fly again. Marsh and Rush took photos of the cckroach infestation and their ability to roam the aircraft.

AirTan has reported that all of their aircraft are cleaned and spayed for insects on a regular basis but did not comment on this incident. At this time we are unaware of any other passengers filing a lawsuit as it relates to this incident. The case, plaintiffs in this case are Harry C. Marsh and Kaitlin Rush, the defendant is AirTran Airways, LLC, case number 3:2011cv00572. The case was filed on November 10, 2011, in the North Carolina Western District Court in the Charlotte Office. The Presiding Judge to hear the case will be Graham Mullen and the plaintiffs have requested a jury trial.

In another related story AirTran Airways, a wholly owned subsidiary of Southwest Airlines told its Employees on Friday that its operations will cease in June 2012 at the several airports and that a number of employees would receive pink slips. AirTran Airways a low-cost airline headquartered in Orlando, Florida. AirTran operates over 650 daily flights.
