Copa America Schedule
July 3, 2011 by staff
Copa America Schedule, Argentina was built as the favorite going into the Copa America. The host country was given a serious wake-up call that Bolivia gave them a tie. After escaping Bolivia, it is difficult to believe that Argentina will take lightly to anyone in the rest of the tournament. If they thought they were going to have to work to advance to the quarterfinals, and they know.
Lionel Messi was completely extinguished against Bolivia. Supporters of Bolivia rescinded the heart of the Argentine team, and the rest of the team was unable to function.
Expect teams to use similar tactics in the future, as this approach worked for a formidable opponent in less than Bolivia.
Argentina was under pressure before the tournament began. High expectations made a lot of weight on the shoulders of Argentina. Instead of relieving some pressure, Messi came out and made some bold guarantees about how his team performed not only in this tournament, but also the 2014 World Cup.
It ended up failing. The arrogance of Argentina took the field, where they raised a lackluster performance against an opponent less.
Colombia won three points in their match against Costa Rica. A win against Argentina would put them comfortably in the driver’s seat, but a loss could drop all the way to the third, if Bolivia does beat Costa Rica.
Colombia smells blood in the water. Argentina is vulnerable; you have to give confidence in Colombia ahead of this match.
Colombia can survive a loss to Argentina, but certainly not want to see a devastating loss. Maintain manageable goal difference will be key for them in the future.
Argentina has the opportunity to put forth a stellar performance and redemption. Even winning in spectacular fashion critics would question their worth. Not only has one win, they need a blowout.
Argentina needs to catch up as a force to be reckoned with. As learned, the journey begins with the group stage. You can take action on July 6 at 8:45 ET.
