Cook County Treasurer, Some residents in suburban Cook County could be facing higher property taxes.

The bill is Vaselopulos with the clerk’s office of Cook County’s. He said that this year, residents will see changes in how their taxes are calculated.

“Properties reside in the suburbs will have their own exemption is reduced and greater taxable value being placed on the ground. Does that necessarily mean they will have their taxes increased? Well maybe, but probably Maybe not. It depends on other actions and activities occurring at this local level, “he said.

Vaselopulos said the final costs for homeowners include any tax increases or bond referendums adopted by local units of government. The treasurer’s office of Cook County said property tax bills will be mailed on Wednesday.
