Conan O Brien New Show, Conan, started last night, bringing the host back on television for the first time since he left NBC in January. The episode had all the trappings of a typical show of late night: a pre-recorded intro segment, an opening monologue joke-filled, followed by appearances customers with movies and TV shows to plug. Although first offered no big surprises, he offered a preview of what to expect in the coming season:

It targets a very specific audience. In his opening monologue, Conan joked that Conan was destined to be “a number of key demographic SCT:. People who can not afford HBO” But based on the series itself, it tries to maintain interest young people’s Internet addict who rallied for him following his very public break with NBC. Conan court millennials was evident in the choice of guests: Judd Apatow darling Seth Rogen, star Lea Michele Glee, White Stripes and guitarist Jack White. O’Brien comments during the show been more clear: he identified himself as “the guys at Twitter.” And later, after a brief pleasure of Internet geeks, O’Brien turned to the advertiser Andy Richter and said: “Talk about biting the hand that feeds you.”

Rogen once opened his mouth, the censors TBS began beeping. “I broke the rule of” sht “,” Knocked Up stars boasted. But Richter had warned him not to get carried away: “We receive three times a night,” he said.

While talking to Michele, O’Brien made the necessary reference to the controversial GQ photo spread she did with her colleagues Glee Cast-members. After declaring that he was not shocked by the racy photos, he suggested a way to make them less sxy: by Photoshopping a picture of him in high school. Michele was so horrified by the skinny, pasty teenage O’Brien she screamed, “Why are you so pale? O’Brien explained why he looks more rosy cheeks on television, “I have 40 pounds of makeup today. I’m really afraid the future.”

His explanation of why he gave his show the name of Conan laughingly obvious: “I did it and I would be more difficult to replace.”

Halfway through the show, O’Brien presented his audience with a good luck message pre-recorded from Office creator Ricky Gervais. After his friend wishing the best with a new cable show, Gervais went on to imagine that O’Brien could be in a month or two: the Food Network. And then he guessed what would happen after that: a concert in a local weather station in Dayton, Ohio. What is the latest media totem for Conan? Satellite radio.
