Columbus Arts FestivalColumbus Arts Festival, Celebrating 50 years in the 2011 Columbus Arts Festival presented by Time Warner Cable, June 3, 4 and 5 in the Discovery District of downtown.

Street closures for the festival will begin Thursday June 2, after 9 am and last until Monday morning, June 6, at 4 am the following roads are closed:

- E. Cleveland Avenue E. Broad Street Spring Street
- N. Ninth Street E. E. Broad Street Spring Street
- E. Washington Avenue E. Broad Street Spring Street
- E. Long Street, Cleveland Avenue N. Washington Avenue
- E. N. Gay Street N. Grant Avenue Washington Avenue

Now celebrating its golden anniversary, the Festival 2011 will feature works of art and fine craftsmanship of some nationally acclaimed local artists and 240 jury, along with continuous live entertainment, gourmet food and hands-on art activities for all ages.

While there are no public events Thursday, June 2, a series of road closures will affect traffic in the center until 7 am on Monday 6 June. Gay St., Washington and Cleveland in the Discovery District will close at 7 am and Long St, between Cleveland and Washington will close at 10 am for all street closures during the festival, visit: https: / / / contact / press -room/street-closings-for-caf.php

Columbus Arts Festival set resembles an intricate dance choreography, which requires precise timing and perfect order. Rain or shine, a large team of volunteers, employees, exhibitors, artists, and food vendors and sponsors fan out across the Discovery District for the 2011 Columbus Arts Festival underway.

At 11 am food vendor set up begins – this year the Arts Enjoy Dine original participants include Barcelona, Barrio Black Creek Bistro, Deepwood, Amici expired, the car, G. Michael ‘s Bistro, Katzinger’s Deli, Mozart, The Refectory Rigsby’s, Tasi and top.

At 2 pm the artists began to move in, street by street to begin the delicate process of playing multiple mediums – paint, glass, clay, sculpture, photography and more.

All day Thursday artists, volunteers, sponsors and GCAC staff director of the festival, including Altera, and President Milt Baughman Leah will be in place ready to share their enthusiasm for the weekend.
