Chuck Liddell, Former heavyweight champion Chuck “The Iceman” Liddell will put aside his four-ounce gloves for the sake of taking a job with the direction of Ultimate Fighting Championship. In a brief announcement, but emotionally, the 41-year-old Liddell said Wednesday his retirement from fighting. He choked as he spoke briefly at the beginning of a news conference in Las Vegas to promote UFC 125 Saturday show. He has been under pressure to stop the competition since Rich “Ace” Franklin was knocked out in June It was the loss of Liddell KO third in as many fights. He is 1-5 in his last six episodes dating back to May 2007.
