But I won’t miss out on the classic “Christmas in Connecticut.” The 1945 film stars Barbara Stanwyck as a food writer and homemaker extraordinaire, a 1940s Martha Stewart. Her publisher decides to leverage her popularity by showing readers her bucolic farm, holiday dinner and newborn baby. In reality, she can’t make toast, is single and has no child. She spends 100 minutes trying to pull off the farce. And she finds time to fall in love with a Navy man. It airs at noon today on the TCM cable network.
