Christmas Desserts Recipes, This is a great Christmas dessert, when served with fresh cut winter fruits, and whipped dairy cream, not the synthetic whip topping. For best results, make it two days in advance of the requirement.
750ml red wine
750ml white wine
2 sticks of cinnamon
2 star anise
1gm orange essence
1 pinch nutmeg
Bring all the ingredients to boil. Simmer for 10 minutes by the clock.
Let it mature for four hours, then strain.
Put it in the freezer in a square container. Once it starts to freeze, scrape the whole mix with a fork. Do this several times and over a gap of a few hours. The more frequently you scrape the finer will be the texture of the ice crystals. Both large and small crystals are just as fine. Once done, serve with fruits and whipped cream. Be sure to keep your serving bowls in the freezer for a few hours before you serve.
