Chris Christie Mitt Romney

Chris Christie Mitt Romney, Support New Jersey Governor Christie Chris Mitt Romney on Tuesday is a game-changing event that shows Romney is effectively established itself as the GOP candidate, Republican strategists said.
Lanny Wiles, a former adviser to the campaign of former Utah Gov. Jon Huntsman, who resigned in August, Christie said backup sends a signal to Republicans who are outside that Romney is your candidate.
“There’s really nowhere else to go,” said Wiles.
Several Republican candidates sought the endorsement of his first term governor, whose brash, loud, speaking style was very popular with conservatives.
But his decision to take Romney, whose cool and composed behavior is its polar opposite, is likely to open up more funds for the campaign and color and also help to erase some of the remaining skepticism that conservatives have with the former governor of Massachusetts, according to several Republican strategists.
“Romney is not a temporary boost,” said Wiles. “It’s the due diligence and hard work, and all bearing fruit.”
Fred Malek, a longtime Republican fundraiser and activist, said Christie’s approval will begin “to evoke a feeling of inevitability that is beginning to attract more people” to Romney.
Christie, who ultimately decided against his own 2012 bid last week, said he supported Romney because of his private experience and public sector.
“We know that bringing the best of both to what we need for the United States at this time,” Christie said during a press conference in the afternoon with Romney in New Hampshire.
Even before Tuesday’s announcement, several major financial sponsors Christie had announced they were supporting Romney. Among them: hedge fund billionaire Paul Singer, one of the most sought after fundraising of the Republican Party.
“The perfection of the candidates is available at the same place where imaginary friends live,” the singer said in a statement. He said Romney has the real-world business and political skills to defeat Obama. During a joint meeting, Christie committed to helping Romney accountable.
