Chicago Thanksgiving Parade: Chicago Thanksgiving Parade

November 24, 2011 by staff

Chicago Thanksgiving Parade: Chicago Thanksgiving Parade, Prime yourself for mountains of starch and a steady stream of football with the 77th annual Chicago Thanksgiving Day Parade.

Sponsored by McDonald’s (because who doesn’t immediately associate Big Macs and Chicken McNuggets with Thanksgiving?), the parade features typical parade stuff: marching bands, Big Bird and Cookie Monster megaballoons, kids on their parents’ shoulders, and an overwhelming sense of holiday cheer.

If applauding helium balloons isn’t your thing, you can also applaud real people during the 34th annual Turkey Trot 8K in Lincoln Park; it begins at 9 AM on Cannon, just north of Fullerton.
