Cheyenne Woods, At least one Woods is a winner this fall year. Tiger title Woods certainly has not spread to his niece, Cheyenne. After winning the title of the Atlantic Coast Conference individual golf, the Wake Forest junior wants to continue building its own identity during the upcoming NCAA Regional.
“At Wake Forest (in 2008) … had a lot of attention on me as a niece of Tiger Woods,” Woods said Tuesday. “Now I’m in college a little more, I’ve shown I’m capable of playing, not being known as Tiger’s niece, but I have my own game, too. I feel people are beginning to recognize that, and this order Last week, I think, really helped. ”
A weekend some more like this, and people might start to wonder if Cheyenne could give some advice to her uncle after he has gone 17 months without a victory – the longest drought of his career.
During that period, Cheyenne Woods has won twice. The Phoenix native is fourth in the ACC with an average score of .59. Most recently he was the only player under par all three rounds in the ACC Championship in Sedgefield Country Club in Greensboro.
Closing the tournament with a 68 that set her fastest lap of the season, Woods shot a 5-under par 208 in the year-71 to claim a victory by seven strokes.
The lopsided margin of victory was reminiscent of how Tigre to dominate the fields during his 71 career victories, including 14 majors. In describing their relationship as “decently close – as close as I am with any other guy,” said Cheyenne Tiger Woods saw her victory in the Internet, sent text messages and posted a tweet greeting after her victory.
Despite having the name of Woods sewn into her golf bag, no doubt brings extra pressure; it insists that her family has been positive. His father Earl Jr. Tiger is half-brother, and her paternal grandfather was Mr. Earl
“It’s definitely gotten my name out there as a college golfer about to turn professional next year. It’s a good thing to have,” said Cheyenne Woods. “It helped me grow as a person and as a player, being able to handle the interviews, the cameras, the center of attention.”
, Said Wake Forest coach Dianne Dailey Golf: “It’s just quiet – have not seen much out deformed about. Do not think her heart rate is above 50.”
There is definitely a family resemblance between uncle and niece. It is located on the face, not necessarily in their playing styles.
Cheyenne Woods says her swing is compared more favorably to Ernie Els’ because it is “nice and soft, but still powerful. “Meanwhile, she says her uncle” whenever you shoot, swinging out of his shoes, hitting 400 meters. ”
“My game is probably not as aggressive, but when you need to make the shots, the will,” said Cheyenne Woods.
Woods praises quiet Dailey and her work with the putter, saying “read greens better than anyone on our team.”
Woods immediate objective approach is in the NCAA Regional, and Wake Forest, is almost certain to claim a place in one of three regional tournaments when bids are announced on Monday. After the NCAA is a final season with the Demon Deacons before plans to turn professional.
“I know it will be difficult to start – I will not expect myself to go to the No. 1 and being the wife of Tiger Woods, like him,” Cheyenne Woods said. “But I know I am talented, and I’ll just take as respect, hard work. I know it’s going to be ups and downs, so I know it’s a hard life, living the life, travel. … I think it will be a struggle, but I have eager and willing to work. “
