Chelsea Clinton Joins NBC, Chelsea Clinton is going to work for NBC News. The network said yesterday that it has hired the 31-year-old to work on projects for ‘NBC Nightly News’ and Brian Williams’ news magazine ‘Rock Center’.

The only child of former president Bill Clinton and Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton has been working primarily as a business consultant.

Motorists love making a splash

Mischievous motorists are happy to make a splash by deliberately soaking pedestrians in wet conditions, according to a survey.

As many as 39pc of drivers admitted to laughing if they saw a splashed pedestrian, while 16pc have splashed on purpose, the poll by the webuyanycar company found.

Woman tries to buy $2,000 baby

A West Texas woman has been charged with attempting to buy a seven-week-old infant for $2,000 (€1,500), police have said.

Marilu Munoz (27) and the child’s mother, Joana Delacruz Huerta (29), were charged with the sale or purchase of an infant, a third-degree felony.

Mummy returns to US university

A long-lost mummy has been returned to a US university after sitting in a police property room for years.

The mummified remains of a child were confiscated five years ago when officers received a tip that a woman was attempting to sell the body on eBay. The remains were part of a collection of Scottish anatomist Allen Burns. They were returned to the University of Maryland.

Starr unable to stomach his trial

Comedian Freddie Starr has been taken to hospital and is undergoing tests after a challenge on ‘I’m A Celebrity . . . Get Me Out Of Here!’.

It is thought Mr Starr (68) became ill after taking part in a Bushtucker Trial.

Taiwan not afraid of the big bad wolf

Last month a Taiwanese boy handed his piggy bank to the opposition candidate for president, only to have the government declare the donation illegal because minors are prohibited from involvement in political campaigns.

The incident sparked the Democratic Progressive Party’s “Three Little Pigs” movement. The idea is that by banding together to make small donations, workers can overcome the big bad wolf of Taiwanese corporate power.
