The service was reduced on Monday night, potentially affecting 16.5 million customers who bank online. Chase spokesman Thomas Kelly could not specify the exact hour service was interrupted.
The bank works with any customer that online bill payment deadlines that could not meet due to lack of electricity, said Kelly. He urged customers to use Chase telephone banking service, which was operating normally, like its 15 500 ATMs.
