Chase Online, NEW YORK (AP) – The online banking service of Chase fell throughout much of the day on Tuesday. The bank said it stemmed from a technical problem and was working to resolve it.

The service was reduced on Monday night, potentially affecting 16.5 million customers who bank online. Chase spokesman Thomas Kelly could not specify the exact hour service was interrupted.

The bank works with any customer that online bill payment deadlines that could not meet due to lack of electricity, said Kelly. He urged customers to use Chase telephone banking service, which was operating normally, like its 15 500 ATMs.
