Charles Barkley Tim Tebow NightmareCharles Barkley Tim Tebow Nightmare, Since leading his team to a shocking overtime victory on Sunday, Jan. 8, Tim Tebow’s name has been on everyone’s lips. But in the case of Charles Barkley, the talk hasn’t exactly been flattering. “The national nightmare continues,” Barkley said, referring to the Tebow-mania that has seemingly swept the nation. “Hey, listen, I like Tim Tebow but there comes a point, he had a great game. He’s supposed to have a great game.”

The comments came during an interview with Mike Missanelli 97.5 in Philadelphia on Tuesday, just days after the Denver Broncos beat out the Pittsburgh Steelers in the Wild Card round of the NFL Playoffs. Tebow made headlines for throwing an impressive 316 yards during the matchup.

Missanelli later asked the NBA Hall of Famer whether he had had enough of the polarizing QB.

“I think the world has,” was Barkley’s response. “First of all, Mike, I don’t know anything you said about Tebow but let’s just say the jury is still out on Tebow. He seems like a nice kid but thes ups and downs are so different. The jury is still out on Tebow.”

“Just because he had a great game and made four or five great throws yesterday doesn’t mean he’s gonna be a great starting quarterback in the NFL,” he continued.

Tebow, who replaced the Broncos’ former starting quarterback, Kyle Orton, earlier this season, will continue his quest for a Super Bowl ring this weekend in the division playoff game against the New England Patriots. Meanwhile, Barkley is keeping busy promoting Weight Watchers, for which he serves as a spokesman, and appearing on TNT’s Inside the NBA. Barkley also served as host of Saturday Night Live last weekend, drawing the highest program ratings since January 2011.
