Casey Anthony Trial Update, On Tuesday, after a forensic expert testified about the heart shaped stickers found in Casey Anthony’s room, a tattoo artist testified about a tattoo that gave Anthony the July 2, 2008, which says: “Bella Vita. “
Bobby Williams, the tattoo artist, said he has known Anthony for seven years and called a few days before when making the appointment.
“Bella Vita” means “beautiful life” in Italian, reports CBS affiliate WKMG. Anthony has a tattoo, while her daughter Caylee was missing. Williams said that Anthony seemed happy when she entered the store. Several of her friends have previously stated that her behavior remained optimistic during the time Caylee was gone before they reported, the station reports.
Williams said that Caylee Anthony said he was with her nanny, but when she made an appointment for July 19, 2008, said Caylee would come with her for that. Caylee was last seen in mid-June and reported missing on July 15, 2008. Anthony was arrested on July 16.
The state said it would present the definition of “Bella Vita” for the jury on Wednesday and then the rest of their case earlier that day. The jury will be free for the day, and then the defense will argue the proposal of acquittal. The defense said it would be ready to begin its case Thursday.
Anthony, 25, has pleaded guilty to first-degree murder in the death of her 2-year-old daughter and could face a death sentence if convicted. Prosecutors say Casey Anthony Caylee suffocated with tape, while the defense says he drowned in the pool at her grandparents. Caylee is still in a wooded area near the Anthony home in December 2008.
