Cameron Diaz’s Role, Cameron Diaz is reportedly in final negotiations to star in a film adaptation of “What to Expect When You’re Expecting.”
According to the Hollywood Reporter, Diaz will play host to a fitness program to lose weight in the Lionsgate film, based on the bestselling pregnancy guide nonfiction. The story will follow five couples in various stages of delivery.
Kirk Jones, who directed “Nanny McPhee” will helm the project based on a screenplay by Heather Hach and Shauna Cross.
“What to Expect When You’re Expecting”, written by Heidi Murkoff and Sharon Mazel, was named one of U.S. Today’s “25 influential books” in the last 25 years. It has always topped the New York Times list of the seller in the category of paperback.
Diaz, 38, has been associated with New York Yankees player Alex Rodriguez, 35, since last July and was seen on holiday in Los Cabos, Mexico in December with the daughters of A-Rod.
Diaz recently co-starred in the superhero movie, “The Green Hornet” starring Seth Rogen and was released on January 14, 2011. The actress said OnTheRedCarpet.com in preparation for the role, had to “Get Smart.”
In her next film, “Bad Teacher,” Diaz plays a foul-mouthed high school teacher who seduces a colleague after being abandoned by her father’s sugar. It is co-starring Jason Segel and ex-boyfriend Justin Timberlake and Diaz is scheduled to launch on June 24, 2011.
