Cali Swag District, Monday morning (May 16) morning the hip-hop fans were shocked by the news that Cali Swag District M-bone member died Sunday night, the victim of a shooting. MTV News has confirmed through the Inglewood Police Department Homicide Sgt. Brian Spencer bone age 22, died of two gunshot wounds to the head in his hometown of Inglewood, California.
At 10:30 pm PST Sunday night police were called to the 400 block of North La Brea in Inglewood. When police arrived they found Talbert sitting in the driver’s seat of a vehicle unspecified black with at least two gunshot wounds to the head. Paramedics took him to a local hospital where Talbert finally succumbed to his injuries.
Witness accounts confirm that the rapper was sitting in his car when gunmen pulled alongside him in a separate vehicle and leave out at least two rounds. The suspects fled north on La Brea.
Signed to Capitol Records, Cali Swag District made its name with the dance of platinum hit “teach me to Dougie,” an ode to the dance popularized by hip-hop legend Doug E. Fresh. Remix disc appears Jermaine Dupri, Bob, Bow Wow and Red Cafe, and her debut album, Backlash, is scheduled for an unspecified 2011.
