Bus Driver Mows Down Bicyclist, The incident started on April 5 2011 when bus driver Gavin Hill, 29, from Frome in Somerset, drove too close to cyclist Phillip Mead, 43, near to St James Barton roundabout in Bristol.

As the vehicle stopped, Mr Mead parked his bike against the front of the bus and had a heated argument with Mr Hill.

As Mr Mead cycled off, the bus driver tried to overtake him, before lurching sharply to the left sweeping the cyclist off the road, causing him fractures to his left wrist and leg, and crushing his bike.

Mr Hill pleaded guilty to dangerous driving and causing grievous bodily harm. He was also disqualified from driving for two-and-a-half years.
