Burress Prison Release, Locked away for nearly two years on a gun rap, former New York Giants, receiver Plaxico Burress is out of jail last week – and is hoping to get your game on the grill soon. His agent, Drew Rosenhaus, Burress said, “is in great shape.” “He’s going to be a highly sought free agent after the lockout is over,” Rosenhaus said. Burress, 33, who caught the winning touchdown pass to Bowl 2008 Super Giants’ victory over the Patriots, was jailed for 20 months after he accidentally shot himself in the thigh with a pistol without a license at a nightclub Manhattan in 2008.
Sentenced to two years for attempted criminal possession of a weapon, which is published at the beginning of an upstate correctional facility for good behavior.
According to reports, several teams are interested in signing Burress, including the Baltimore Ravens, St. Louis Rams and Philadelphia Eagles, where Michael Vick, who was jailed for illegal dogfighting, is the starting quarterback.
