Broncos Player Found Dead, Denver Broncos receiver Kenny McKinley was found dead in his home Monday in an apparent suicide. Officials were called to her house just after 3:30 after a friend found him in a room on the second floor after she returned from an errand with her son. The 23-year-old McKinley was assassinated by a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

McKinley was on the team roster on injured reserve. He was a second-year player who played in eight games as a rookie in 2009 before suffering a serious knee injury last year in finishing infrared. He injured his back during the first weeks of training camp and was placed on IR on 5 August.

A statement, the Denver coach Josh McDaniels said, “Kenny have a promising future in the football field, but more importantly, was one great teammate whose smile and personality could light up the room. This is a tragic loss for our football team, and his family are in our thoughts and prayers during this difficult time. “
