Britains Got Talent

Britains Got Talent, Britain’s Got Talent returns to television screens tonight and one of the participants in the hope of finding fame is Alex Griffiths, who was kidnapped as a baby and held captive for 17 days.

The case, in 1990, sparked a national hunt after a nurse grabbed the young – only 36 hours of life – the St Thomas Hospital in London.

According to an exclusive in the Sun, Griffiths remained calm throughout the audition process because he wanted to “impress people for who I am and what I can do, not because he was kidnapped as a baby.”

She is now 21 and studying mathematics at the University of Manchester, the newspaper said.

Her captor, who was found with a remote playground Cotswolds home, spent seven months in a psychiatric hospital, but died of cancer four years later.

Britain’s Got Talent will feature a new panel of judges this series, with Amanda Holden the only other previous years. Comedian Michael McIntyre and Baywatch legend David Hasselhoff join her.
