Breitbart Obama Video

Breitbart Obama Video,’s explosive, blockbuster video that would expose Barack Obama as a radical commie who wasn’t vetted by the media was almost entirely hype.’s Editor-in-Chief Joel Pollak and Editor-at-Large Ben Shapiro appeared together on Fox News Wednesday night with Sean Hannity to discuss the one-minute teaser clip released earlier today where a younger Barack Obama, president of Harvard Law Review, spoke to a group at a rally about racial equality among the Harvard Law staff. The demonstration was led by professor Derrick Bell who took an unpaid leave of absence in protest of a lack of female black professors at the school.

“Open your hearts and open your minds to the words of professor Derrick Bell,” Obama said in 1991.

And that was it.

Pollak, Shapiro and Hannity then chastised the media, or Buzzfeed, which scooped the Breitbart story, for not including in the clip 1) a shot of Obama hugging Derrick Bell and 2) not also releasing a video of Charles Ogletree, “Barack Obama’s mentor” according to Breitbart, saying of the video at a conference, “Of course we hid this throughout the 2008 campaign. I don’t care if they find this now.”

As for professor Bell, who died last year, Buzzfeed expands:

Here’s an introduction to Bell, a controversial academic figure who argued that questions or race and power should be central to the law. His criticism at times extended to other African-American academics, and remarked controversially at one point that β€œthe ends of diversity are not served by persons who look black and think white.”

Pollack and Shapiro want you to believe that because of this association, however tenuous, Obama is radical with a racial agenda. They were outraged and subdued at the same time, probably because Buzzfeed found the video that Breitbart sat on for at least four years. And Hannity wants you to know that the media failed β€” not Fox, or Breitbart, the rest of the media β€” for not finding this and airing it earlier.

Update: PBS obtained the entire video (below), which was shot and produced in 1990 by local Boston news station, WGBH. The station was reporting on Harvard’s minority hiring record. According to PBS, both Buzzfeed and PBS obtained the video from WGBH’s archives.
