Boy Meets World Star, Despite popular 90′s comedy has been completed for over a decade, some students are celebrating their love for the show with a new registered student organization.

It all started when Spencer Austin Lansing second was watching “Boy Meets World,” with Amanda Jaczkowski, freshman from Clinton Township, at 4 am March 29. So they decided to see if they could create an RPG.

Austin quickly drafted a constitution and submitted for approval by the Office of Student Life. After review, the Boy Meets World Appreciation Club was approved on March 31, the birthday of William Daniels, who played major iconic Mr. Feeny on the show.

“It was quite remarkable to be passed on the birthday of Mr. Feeny,” said Austin, president of the club. “We worked hard to do this.”

Tom Idema, assistant director of Student Life, was impressed with the determination to Austin for the OPR of the earth. Idema, said that while there have been many different types of RSO on campus, he is not sure whether there has been nothing like this before.

“It does not take much time to do an RPG if you do your homework, you can take up to a few months for some people,” said Idema. “But he did it very quickly.”

Said he is interested in seeing where the RSO will it would be fun to watch.

Jaczkowski in Austin’s first thought was joking about his desire to create the RPG, but Austin said he never was.

“I want this to be taken seriously,” he said. “I want to be unlike any other RPG on campus.”

Jaczkowski, vice president of the club, said one of the main objectives would be to discuss the lessons of life in each episode.

She expects the group to grow and gain the support of students as word spreads.

“We’re really hoping this takes off,” he said.

In addition to providing a place for fans of “Boy Meets World” to gather and talk about the show, Austin said he has been in contact with Danielle Fishel, who played Topanga’s character, about her bringing to campus.

He would also like to take either of Rider Strong, who played Shawn, and Ben Savage, who played Cory, said.

“I’ll do whatever it takes to bring it here,” said Austin. “If I have to, I pay out of pocket.”

Students can join the club through OrgSync. There is a one-time and fee that covers the cost of a shirt and snacks for the semester. The first meeting is from to 10 pm on Wednesday in Pearce 107.
