Boy Dead Maine Road
May 17, 2011 by USA Post
The boy’s body, which was covered with a blanket, was discovered by a passerby on Dennett Road near Route 4 in South Berwick.
Researchers have been unable to identify the child, believed to be between 4 and 6. The child is described as 3 feet 8 inches tall and weighs 45 pounds.
“Somebody has to lose the child, (if) is the nephew of someone or someone’s grandson, to this end has been very, very frustrating that we have not got any clue, significant leads in the identification of this child,” Lt. Brian McDonough with the Maine State Police, said during a news conference Monday.
No report of any missing person matching the description of the child, authorities said, and a computer generated picture of the child has been released in the hope that it will generate leads. Detectives have received more than 100 tips in the case.
Police believe the body was left in place around 7:30 am Saturday and that the child died about two hours earlier, according MyFoxMaine.com. The authorities say they are looking for a pickup truck navy blue Toyota Tacoma a resident reported seeing in the area tomorrow. The truck had an extended cab with a white cap and license plates, although the state and number were unclear, the station reports.
