Boulder Colorado, More than 3,000 people have been evacuated from their homes near Boulder, Colorado, as the fire at Four Mile Canyon continues to grow. Boulder Fire is currently covering 3,500 acres of land, but firefighters are planning their efforts today as winds begin to subside.
According to the Associated Press, the authorities plan to turn over twice the amount of fire retardant on the fire in Boulder today. Many of the planes were grounded yesterday due to high winds.
Dozens of homes in the area have been consumed by fire, but authorities did not know the exact number. Authorities have confirmed that four houses belonging to the firefighters have been destroyed.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation, but the Associated Press reports that the area has not rained in the last month.
