Boston Red Sox Radio

April 8, 2011 by staff

Boston Red Sox Radio, The Yankees will arrive at Fenway Park this weekend to take on the modern version of the Yankees in 1927. At least that’s what I thought NESN Red Sox last winter. Instead, they face a team in the mode of early season crisis. Although you cannot put much stock in April Records, a -9 start for Boston would be disastrous. If I were Joe Girardi would treat these games very seriously, almost like the playoffs, as they may look great in 2011.

Even a nine-game losing streak to start the season will not bury the Red Sox completely. -Two teams of 2001 and 2005 Oakland Athletics Houston Astros, who got a terrible start and reached the playoffs. The Athletics began 18.8 in 2001 and win 102 games this year. It was perhaps one of its strongest teams during the turn of the century career. Houston was 15-30 on May 24, 2005 and ended with 89 victories, the Wild Card, and went to the World Series. The starting point is that evil can be overcome in a 162 game season.

With that said nine games under .500 is a decent size hole. Even last year when healthy his best month produced a record 18-9. The Red Sox have been in a hole that it takes about a month of baseball to get just returned to mediocrity. If you plan on winning a division with the Yankees, and strong newcomers like Toronto and Baltimore, is almost as bad a scenario as you might imagine.

The Yankees will not win the AL East this weekend, but it sure can make a wound in the version of Terry Francona, the Yankees 27. By Monday there could be tons of references to the above Oakland and Houston run. Remember, this type of stations are usually once in a lifetime. One could argue that the Red Sox used lucky coin in.
