Boston College Basketball, Boston College accepted an invitation to the National Invitation Tournament in 2011 and will open play at McNeese State, Tuesday, March 15. Game time is 21 hours in Lake Charles, Louisiana The game will be televised by ESPNU. British Columbia will enter the tournament with a record 20-12. The Eagles finished tied for fourth in the Atlantic Coast Conference, finishing with a -7 conference mark.
McNeese State, a member of the Southland Conference, will enter the tournament with a record of 21-10, including a league record 11-5. The Cowboys won the Eastern Conference crown division.
Junior guard Reggie Jackson and senior forward Joe Trapani leads Boston College. Jackson earned all-ACC honors the first team after averaging .1 points per game in the league. Trapani gained All-ACC third team honors after averaging 14.1 points and .3 rebounds per game in the league.
For Boston College, marks the appearance of the program 11 in the National Invitation Tournament. British Columbia has a record of 16-11 all time in the NIT. The Eagles participated in the NIT final in, defeating Fairfield (Bridgeport, Connecticut) in the first round before losing to Temple (in the Gym) in the first round.
