Bobbie Christina Brown, Whitney Houston and daughter Bobbi Kristina Brown arrive at a pre-Grammy gala on Feb. 11, 2012, Bobbi Kristina Brown, the 18-year-old daughter of Whitney Houston, was rushed to hospital late Sunday morning, the day after her mother died.
According to CNN, Brown was admitted to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles at 11:15 a.m., and was discharged late the same day. The teen is expected to head to New Jersey, where Houston’s mother lives.
Family friend Kim Burell told CNN that she was with Houston’s daughter at the Beverly Hilton Hotel after the singer’s death. “As to be expected, she’s overwhelmed – it’s her mother. She knows how much her mother meant to the world. And Bobbi Kristina has a huge heart, just like her mother,” Burell told CNN.
Bobbi and her mother shared a close relationship, though sources claim the teen became her mother’s caretaker as Houston’s deug problems escalated. “In a way, she was the adult in relationship,” a source told ABC.
According to Us Weekly, Bobbi Kristina and her mother were planning to record together.
Bobbi Kristina’s father and Houston’s ex-husband, Bobby Brown, is reportedly flying to Los Angeles to be with his daughter. In a statement about his daughter’s health, the New Edition singer said: “Obviously the death of her mother is affecting her. However, we will get through this tragedy as a family. Again, I ask for privacy during this time.”
Bobbi Kristina was born in 1993. She appeared on television alongside her parents in the reality series Being Bobby Brown, which aired for one season in 2005. Houston and Bobby Brown divorced in 2007.
