Blue Bloods

Blue Bloods, Tom Selleck returned to primetime television on Friday night with “Blue Blood“, a new series about several generations of police officers.

Selleck plays New York Police Commissioner Frank Reagan serving in a job he inherited from his father (Len Cariou) worked with him on the streets of New York are two sons (Will Estes and Donnie Wahlberg) and a force daughter (Bridget Moynahan) in the district attorney’s office.

The show is a mix of police drama and family drama and elements of both appeared in the first episode about the abduction of a girl in the mostly Hispanic Washington Heights section of the city.

The show has received mostly favorable reviews benfitted of a lead-in to “CSI: NY,” a workhorse on CBS, which has undergone changes in the cast during the summer.

Selleck is familiar on the small screen for his years playing in Hawaii based private investigator Thomas Magnum in the 1980 TV show “Magnum PI” is also familiar to viewers of CBS as a policeman, who appeared as Jesse Stone in a series of films made for television about a police chief in a small town
