Bin Laden Mansion

Bin Laden Mansion, Was Osama bin laden really live in a “mansion”? Depends on your definition of a mansion, but the term used to describe the location of bin Laden is hiding is more accurate in the size of appearance. It looks more like a giant high-security compound. According to ABC News, that captured video images of the interior (above) was approximately six times larger than any other building around it, and was surrounded by walls 15 meters high with barbed wire. Although he was sacked after yesterday’s shooting, the video shows a room with a bed and a carpeted floor stained with blood. Not quite the real thing.
Wait, is not supposed to be living in a cave? Bin Laden has long been thought to be hiding somewhere in the middle of nowhere on the border of Pakistan and Afghanistan after the U.S. military almost trapped there all the way back in 2001. The compound, however, was built in 2005, according to The New York Times, with the express purpose of concealing the Qaeda leader. It’s also a lot of nothing: Abbottabad, a city where it is located, is two hours north of Pakistan’s capital and home to the country’s military academy. Bin Laden lived only 1,000 feet from Pakistani forces.
And still could not find him? Bin Laden may have been hidden from view, but that does not mean that it was much easier to identify. As a retired U.S. intelligence told us last year, these operations typically occur virtually. Despite Abbottabad has been the home of Al Qaeda activity in the past, intelligence reports often rely on picking up signals from telephone and Internet connections, which Bin Laden had no home (no doubt intentionally). A nearby resident, told CNN that the building “has been occupied by many people over the past five years,” but the neighbors did not have suspicions about exactly who was living there. Bin Laden and his fellow residents, apparently so paranoid about security that they even burned their trash instead of leaving it out for collection.
So how are you? However, the size of the house probably helped. According to the Times, intelligence officials had initially followed by one of bin Laden trusted messengers to the place where, after a look at the property, they assumed that someone much more important thing to hide.
