Bill Weir ABC Heart Attack Risk

January 18, 2012 by staff

Bill Weir ABC Heart Attack RiskBill Weir ABC Heart Attack Risk, Bill Weir, the co-anchor of ABC’s “Nightline” program, has discovered, to his shock no doubt, he is at major risk of contracting a heart attack.

Weir was working on a story for ABC about Dr. David Agus, the doctor who treated both the late Apple Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and cycling star Lance Armstrong. Agus performed a full body CT scan on Weir, for the sake of the television report.

The scan found a blockage in the main artery of Weir’s heart and he was subsequently told that had he left it untreated, he may not have survived more than 5 years.

“Boy, I’m glad we caught this. You have heart disease and probably within the next five years you would have gone for a jog and dropped dead,” Agus said to Weir.

“I was blown away,” Weir said. ” I always went to the gym in morning, worked out hard for an hour and figured that covered me for the rest of the day. Turns out, that rigorous exercise early and then 10 hours of sitting is as dangerous as or more dangerous than smoking,” Weir added.

“The first thing that flashed in front of my eyes was my 8-year-old daughter,” Weir continued. He added his grandfather had died of a heart attack many years ago. It was, perhaps, a warning sign that hardly seemed relevant to him at that time.
