Bill O’reilly, (AP) – Barack Obama said he did not take it personally when people say they hate it. And the thing he dislikes most about my president is the constant scrutiny. “People do not like you do not know. People who hate you, they do not know you, “Obama said Sunday in an interview broadcast during the coverage of Fox’s pregame Super Bowl. “What they hate is what funhouse mirror image of you is there. They do not know.” Asked by interviewer Bill O’Reilly if his critics bothered him, Obama said: “When you get here, you must have a pretty thick skin if you do not, then you probably would not was here. ”
The 14-minute live interview sought views of Obama on a range of timely issues, including the unrest in Egypt and the ultimate fate of the law of health care news. O’Reilly also surveyed about Obama lighter topics, including the team that would win the Super Bowl and the worst part of his job.
Obama criticized again “be in the bubble.” Staff everywhere; Secret Service agents and media follow it.
“It is very difficult to escape,” Obama said, sitting in the Blue Room of the White House. “Every move you make. And over time, you know, what happens is that you feel you are unable to just have a spontaneous conversation with people. And it’s a waste. It is a great loss. ”
Asked what surprised once he took office, Obama said that he never was asked to solve an easy problem.
“I think the thing that you understand intellectually, but you do not understand in your gut until you’re at work. Is that every decision that comes to my desk is something that nobody else does was able to solve, “he said.” Things are easy fixes by someone somewhere else. When it is mine, you do not have easy answers. ”
A liberal, Obama denied that he veered toward the political in the wake of the “shellacking” Democrats suffered in the November elections – the party lost control of the House and now has a slim majority in the Senate – and as he positions himself to run for reelection in 2012.
“I am the same guy,” Obama said.
