Bike Build Off

December 7, 2011 by staff

Bike Build Off, American Chopper’s Biker Build Off comes to a head tonight when either Jesse James or the father and son team of Paul Sr. and Pauly Jr. get enough votes from the viewers to take the win. Jesse James’ trash talking, Paul Sr’s gruffness and Pauly Jr’s whining created some very different dynamics in a reality show. Will tonight’s vote be about who’s the best at this “Biker Build Off” or will it come down to who has the most fans?

Building a bike was just a part of this American Chopper show/contest, as much of the entertainment value came from the three distinct personalities of these main characters. Jame’s lack of a filter, the one that comes between what you’re thinking and what you’re about to say, made way for some surprising thoughts coming from this ex Monster Garage mogul.

Paul Sr’s constant criticism of his son Pauly, was uncomfortable to watch at times, as the man did very little to build up this kid’s self-esteem. Then Pauly Jr’s whining was definitely a learned behavior and the product from the way his father treats him. Huliq is giving Pauly Jr. the thumbs up for winning tonight with Paul Sr. realizing by now he’s not going to win, but they are calling him a “likeable” guy anyway. As far as TV shows go, he can come off as likeable, but the way he treats his son is so not likeable.

James admits he was nervous building a bike alone after having years of staff around him to help. He really went to town and it looks like he can just about taste the win when he talks about how much of himself he’s put into the biker creation.
