Beyonce & Glastonbury, Beyonce has described her performance as headlining the 2011 Glastonbury Festival as the highlight of her career. The artist covered Kings of Leon, Prince and Alanis Morissette for a performance at Pyramid Stage, which also included her biggest solo hits and a series of songs from Destiny’s Child.
Beyonce told the BBC after her set: “Tonight was a dream I felt like a rock star, and the crowd, which seemed to rock stars, and I’m honored, really … This is the highlight of my career.”
The singer, whose new album 4 shows this week in the UK and the U.S., also said he believed that the success of her husband Jay-Z headlining performance in 2008 had paved the way for its own program.
Beyonce said: “I could see my husband perform here a couple of years ago and was one of the most exciting nights I do not know if I have been asked to come if he did it. Performance.
“I am very happy because, you know, I usually do not do parties and 175,000 people and … I was very nervous.
“Everyone gave me so much love and never, never, never forget tonight.”
Beyonce also joked that Coldplay frontman Chris Martin had found her plans for the festival.
She said: “I sent my list of songs by Chris and made sure it passed because, of course, he is the master of this.”
Coldplay headlined the festival on Saturday night, performing a series of new issues that are expected to provide in its next studio album in five years.
