Betty Ford FuneralBetty Ford Funeral, Friends and family of the late former first lady Betty Ford in Palm Desert will meet Tuesday for the first of two planned funeral services. Ford, the wife of the late President Gerald R. Ford, died Friday at age 93.
Tuesday’s ceremony will be held from 11:20 am until 3 pm at the family church, St. Margaret’s Episcopal Church. Journalist Cokie Roberts and former First Lady Roslyn Carter are two of the eulogies.

Ford’s body will go through a convoy of vehicles on Wednesday morning on the way to Palm Springs International Airport to fly to Gerald R. Ford International Airport in Grand Rapids, Michigan, after a farewell ceremony for the guests.

After a private service at the Gerald R. Ford Presidential Museum in Grand Rapids on Wednesday, Ford is at rest in the museum overnight.

On Thursday, a private service will be held at 2 pm at Grace Episcopal Church. The service will include Lynne Cheney, wife of former Vice President Dick Cheney and presidential historian Richard Norton Smith and singers.

Ford will be buried body with her husband in his presidential museum.

Both services have a smaller military presence that President Ford, who died in 2006, said the family media liaison Lewandrowski Barbara.

“There will be similarities, but not so great and the development of a service such as military service for a president,” Lewandrowski.
