Benicio Del Toro Star Trek, Benicio Del Toro offered villain in “Star Trek” Sequel – Is Khan? Variety reports that actor Benicio del Toro was offered the role of villain in the upcoming sequel to 2009 Director JJ blockbuster franchise-reboot Abram Star Trek movie.

So far, Abrams and the team maintained strict control over the details of the new Paramount film, and the main villain’s identity is a closely guarded secret. But that could give us a clue on who might be to show up?

Maybe so, and on top of my list of best-guess it’s a household name …

There have been some indications of possible. Screenwriters Roberto Orci and Alex Kurtzman have explained that they were watching old episodes of the original series a bit of inspiration, and on behalf of an individual, was on par. The same name, in fact, that J.J. Abrams said in a moment.

Yes, Khan, as in Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan. Ricardo Montalban made famous character, and is considered one of the best (if not the best) Star Trek villains ever created. And personally, I imagine Del Toro deliver a great performance and worthy as Khan.

It makes sense that while the franchise reboot created a new timeline and allows entirely new adventure that will take place, it is also true that many of the same threats from the original timeline still exists.

So Khan is still there, sleeping and waiting to be awakened by who has the misfortune to find his boat. It would be interesting to see the company run into him again, but this time with results that can be very different.

I could be wrong, and this is pure speculation, of course, and a lot of fingers crossed for me. But I think it’s possible it would be very surprising, and when I think del Toro and wonder what’s the big secret about the identity of the villain, Khan seems a very plausible option.

However, perhaps the film presents a completely new villain. Or maybe we will see a totally different villain from the original series, as the mad Captain Garth. Moreover, since this is a new timeline, it is possible that this company can now find villains of Star Trek shows.

Ever wonder what would have happened to Kirk and his crew were the Q I find? Maybe you know!

But for now, the name on the top of my list of best estimate is Khan.
