Beatriz Recari, Recari Beatriz of Spain took her first U.S. LPGA title taking a one-shot lead over France Gwladys Nocera on Sunday. This is a memorable victory for the Spanish as she fought well in difficult wet conditions.
The 23-year-old Recari carded two under 70 for a 14-under total of 274 LPGA Challenge at the pharmacy.
Recari held his nerve to get a par on the final hole to defeat Nocers, who also birdied the final hole to score 70 for his total of 275.
Michelle Redman carded a 72 and was tied for third at 276 with Karine Icher of France, who also carded a 70.
Cristie Kerr U.S. lost opportunity to boost Japan’s Ai Miyazato with second place after finishing with 277. Wendy Ward (72), was also linked to Kerr in the final round.
Recari pocketed $ 165,000 as a reward for this event. The win also came to her after 14 months. She last won a professional title in the Finnair Masters in August 2009.
