Barnes & Noble Bookstore

Barnes & Noble Bookstore, The Barnes & Noble in Wilkes-Barre Township is collecting books to donate to the West Pittston Library, the company announced Saturday.

The book store, located in the Arena Hub Plaza, chose the library as the recipient for its annual holiday book drive after the Susquehanna River flooded the library and destroyed its computers, equipment, furniture, shelves and more than 14,000 books, the company said in a news release.

“Choosing the West Pittston Library as our recipient organization this year was a no-brainer,” Donna Wench, the book store’s community relations manager, said. “As booksellers, it’s heartbreaking to see a library devastated in this way. We’re making every effort to help in any way we can.”

The book drive will take place at the store until Jan. 1. For more information on how to participate, contact the store at 570-829-4210.
