Banana Republic, (AP) – Gap Inc. is putting on the head of his division to head out of its Gap brand stores in North America in one of several changes designed to revive the sagging sales of the chain.
Gap Inc. has announced the changes Wednesday. The company also plans to merge the operations of its Gap and Banana Republic chains with the division of output, which includes Gap and Banana Republic Factory Outlet stores. Other changes include moving the marketing team of Gap brand in New York to San Francisco, home of the parent company.
The advertising agency based in New York from Ogilvy & Mather Worldwide agency will become the chain worldwide.
The company said Art Peck would replace Marka Hansen as the leader of the Gap brand in North America. Hansen left the company Friday after 24 years.
