Baguio Plane Crash

Baguio Plane Crash, Two victims of the ill-fated plane crash here in Baguio City were transferred yesterday to Manila. The victims, Vanessa CABIS pilot Colonel Reynaldo Garcia, who has serious injuries were taken to Saint Luke’s Hospital Medical Center in Metro Manila for further medical treatment. CABIS suffered a broken back and collarbone, while Garcia suffered burns on various parts of the body. They were among the victims of the six-seater Piper Aztec, with tail number RPC that crashed and caught fire in the trail riding at Camp John Hay, at 2:53 pm after taking off from Loake.
The other two victims are still confined in the Intensive Care Unit of the Baguio General Hospital. The Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) is still conducting investigation into the cause of the accident. The Control Tower Airport Loakes gave the CAAP also trying to match the aircraft passenger manifest and the flight.
In an initial report, the CAAP and the police identified the dead in the accident, based on the manifest, as Jose Alvarez and Jorge Gracia. He identified four injured Garcia, Jose Miranda, Guerrero Ness, and Basilio Mateo. The manifest did not include CABIS, a Yabut Irenaeus, and George Harana. Harana would have been among those killed, while Yabut was among the wounded. The CAAP is releasing an official statement on the details and other information from the plane crash. (RC-PIA CAR)
