Baby Lisa Irwin Found Today ?, No. Parents of missing baby Lisa Irwin were seen in a prayer vigil outside her home Sunday night, while one of her lawyers suggested that police have lost their chance of finding the child alive for wasting time and research resources of its customers.
Family members and friends frequently gathered for vigils in front of the house of Kansas City in the 11 months of age, disappeared almost three weeks, but Sunday’s event marked Deborah Bradley and Jeremy Irwin first public appearance in several days. They did not speak, but when asked by CNN affiliate KMBC that the large crowd who attended the vigil meant to her, Bradley said: “It means a lot to me.”
A lawyer for the parents, Cynthia Short, went home for the weekend after authorities search for 17 hours last week and made with local journalists spoke about what he saw.
Although the police to bring X-ray machines, none of the floors, walls or carpets had been removed or uprooted. A search warrant return released Friday are only a handful of items that were collected from the house. Short told reporters saw the carpet being carried off the property during the search was taken from the shed in the backyard.
Speaking to CNN affiliate KCTV, Short said he was surprised the police had not taken even a piece of carpet in the room where a cadaver dog indicated the smell of a corpse for lateranlysis. The cadaver dog “hit” was one of the reasons for the more intrusive search of the house referred to in the affidavit for search warrant.
“My fear is that we have overlooked this critical time to find this baby,” said Short KCTV. “It really breaks my heart that we have been looking in the wrong direction, and as a result could not get the happy ending we want.”
In an interview with WDAF, Short also revealed a condition that the parents have placed on a future interview with the police. There are some detectives that they feel have broken your trust and do not want them to be present, because we sat with them would be “counterproductive,” said Short.
Irwin suggested Bradley would be more comfortable talking to “some detectives who are fresh ears of fresh eyes.”
Another couple’s lawyer, Joe Tacopina questioned the meaning of some of the information in the affidavit of a search warrant, in particular the cadaver dog pick up the scent of a corpse on the floor of the room. He suggested the “Today Show” on NBC on Monday that dog odor could have been beaten in a dirty diaper or toes, we reject as a “smokescreen”.
Both lawyers said that recent reports of witnesses seeing a man carrying a baby at night Lisa disappeared as a lead police should pursue rather than investigating the parents. Two witnesses who live a few yards from Bradley and Irwin saw the man at 12:15 am on October 4 and found it odd that not wearing a jacket and baby seemed to be wearing nothing but a diaper. Another witness said he saw a similar looking man and the baby around 4:00 am about three miles away.
Video surveillance of a gas station less than two miles from home Irwin obtained by CNN shows a man walking down the road around 2:15 am. It is difficult to distinguish any detail of what the man looks like, but the station manager, told CNN that it is unusual for anyone who walks in that area at that time of night.
It remains unclear whether there is any connection between the three sightings.
Lisa Irwin’s parents say she disappeared from her crib at some point between 6:40 pm Oct. 3 and 4:00 am on October 4.
