How can women artists are? For peace, have decided to conduct the program of 10 hours of music, dance and poetry in the Constitution Club, New Delhi on 23 September. Admission is free.
Women of different movements, traditions and professional artists will gather to celebrate peace and communal harmony.
“In response to growing violence in the country and the building tension over women ruling September 24 gather to say we want peace and communal harmony,” organizers said in a statement.
The program Humam submit some very talented female artists who have performed in the capital, as the weavers of Tezpur, Assam and North East network bringing a dance show, and the products they weave.
The performers include Parveen Khan Sabrina, a singer prodigy 16 years of age who sing Sufi music from Rajasthan, Gujarat tribal singers, performers of Chattisgarh, Himachal Pradesh, Haryana, a percussionist from Kerala youth group, young artists and New Delhi’s future as Namrita Pamnani and Sneha Chakradhar, flute Sulochana Thapa, student poets Springdale School, Dhaula Kuan-Alisha Dhyani, Vamik Gauri Kant and singers and a young student of Lady Shriram College.
Along with these there are the likes of Delhi as the dancer Pratibha Prahlad, singer Vidya Rao, Manu Sharma and Kohli Pratiksha. The program will culminate with the performance of Table Master and disciple of Ustad Zakir Pal Sahab Hussain Anuradha Mumbai.
The program and the artists will also make a heavy demand for political participation.
“They also claim that only through political participation of women in parliament and assemblies can be guaranteed peace. Women are the ones that suffer most from any conflict and violence, and anyone else that women understand the meaning of a lasting peace and communal harmony, “organizers said.
The program will begin at 10:30 am and will run at 9 pm at the Hall of Vice President, the Constitution Club, Rafi Marg, New Delhi.
