Au Bon Pain

Au Bon Pain, The EMT, who is accused of ignoring a dying pregnant in an Au Bon Pain in December 2009, was arraigned in Brooklyn Criminal Court yesterday. Melisa Jackson is accused of a crime unique account of professional misconduct for not treating the victim Eutisha Rennix, who died after a chronic asthma attack. Prosecutors allege to know the real reason that Jackson called 911 instead of staying to help the woman: “The reason why she could not keep Ms. Jackson got out of work where it was supposed to be on guard for an item terminal, “said Kevin Richardson ADA to the indictment.
Prosecutors say Jackson snuck across the duty to respond to her boyfriend EMT, Jason Green, who was on an authorized break (he was killed in a shooting self in SoHo in July). She was afraid of getting caught, so she fled and was abandoned by its obligation to provide medical care. Jackson’s lawyer argued that his client was the only person in the store that did nothing to help Rennix. He also argues that Rennix refused to go to the hospital earlier because she needed to work on time. Family Rennix refuted these claims: “To try to blame the victim for the failure of an emergency medical technician trained to do their duty is a scandal.”
