Att Wireless, * AT & T and WellDoc ®, a healthcare company that develops technology solutions to improve the lives of people with chronic diseases, today announced a strategic alliance to market and sell mobile health WellDoc (mHealth) a solution to the U.S. to facilitate improvement of patient outcomes and reduce the spiraling costs of chronic disease management.
AT & $ T plans to deploy the technology WellDoc through an internal initiative with a number of employees, using WellDoc DiabetesManager ® System in 2011. AT & T $ will potentially extend to other diseases (on the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA)), including: heart disease, asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and oncology. AT & T has a direct interest to help improve the health of our employees and quality of life and reduce health care spending. In 2009, AT & T offered $ medical, dental, life insurance, vision or disability benefits to about 1.2 million people – employees, retirees and their dependents. This includes about 686,000 employees and dependents and about 495,000 retirees and dependents.

AT & T strategy is to expand its base communications capabilities to provide solutions mHealth, and as part of the multifaceted relationship with WellDoc, AT & T will jointly market and sell at mHealth & T solutions WellDoc diseases Chronic throughout the ecosystem health as a whole, including payers, employers and self-insured management organizations of the disease. The complete solution WellDoc AT & T’s full portfolio of technology solutions for clients in health care and gives businesses a new mobile tool to help manage populations. According to the Deloitte Center for Health Solutions, about 50 percent of consumers expressed interest in home monitoring devices to check their condition and to communicate the results to their doctor. Mobile technology through the use of email and comments through mHealth can play a key role in helping people with chronic illnesses like diabetes make lifestyle choices appropriate. The DiabetesManager WellDoc ® Enterprise System Web tools also allow suppliers and disease management organizations to better monitor patient populations larger than the system automates and enhances the participation of the patient.
