Atlantic Beach NCAtlantic Beach NC, The center of Hurricane Irene has beaten the North Carolina coast near Cape Lookout, with winds of Category 1-force of 85 miles per hour.

Hurricane warnings for the next 48 hours have been issued for North Carolina, Virginia, Washington, DC, Maryland, Delaware, New York, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Connecticut Coastal, Rhode Island and Massachusetts.

So far, in eastern North Carolina and has seen three tornadoes in recent days, and most of the state and areas of Maryland and Virginia are under tornado watches Sunday.

Stacy town and the North Carolina coast, is to see 93 mph wind gusts this morning.

The other end of the fishing pier in Atlantic Beach, North Carolina collapsed during the night, ABC News affiliate WTVD reported. The dock is 100 feet long stands, but eventually disappeared in the ocean. More than 24,000 flights are based throughout the country.

All airports in the New York area will no longer accept arrivals at noon today. Airports are expected to be affected most are in New York (Newark, John F. Kennedy and LaGuardia), Philadelphia, Penn. and Charlotte, North Carolina
