Assassin’s Creed 3, Expected to be the subject of a grand reveal at the Electronic Entertainment Expo in June, the Wii U incorporates a touchscreen tablet along with Wii Remote compatability.

Details are sparse but Ubisoft’s note at least lends credence to the idea that the Wii U will receive multi-platform games on a par with the older Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, rather than spin-offs or modified editions, as was often the case with the Wii.

Other game series that were mentioned during Nintendo’s Wii U announcement back at E3 2011 were action adventure Darksiders II, Ninja Gaiden 3, motorsport title Dirt, survival shooter Metro: Last Light, Aliens: Colonial Marines, and Batman: Arkham City.

The company later confessed that footage shown was in fact pulled from Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 versions of the games, a concession to the Wii U’s in-development status.
