Aruba MissingAruba Missing, Another U.S. woman have disappeared during a trip to Aruba. Robyn Gardner Maryland native, 35, was last seen on 02 August in an area known as Baby Beach for its shallow waters, the office of Aruba’s public prosecutor Angela Ann spokesman told the Associated Press. The case brings to mind the U.S. teenager Natalee Holloway, who disappeared on the same island in 2005.

Police have arrested Gardner’s traveling companion, 50-year-old Gary Giordano, who tried to return to the U.S.

The man, who referred to Angela as “suspect,” he told the authorities that while diving with Gardner, who had drawn her to return to shore. But when he returned to the beach, Gardner was no longer with him. Was reported missing the night.

“Statements made by the traveling companion led to questions so that the Friday, August 5, 2011, it was decided to stop for more questions about the possible drowning of women,” said a statement issued by the prosecutor’s office.

The Herald reported that Aruba Giordano and Gardner met in an online dating site and had been seeing regularly for several weeks.

Another man, Richard Forester, was identified as the boyfriend of Gardner. He told the AP he had thought the relationship was platonic and Gardner Giordano. But Forester now has his doubts about what was happening. “I’m starting to believe there was something romantic,” said Forester.
