Aretha Franklin Biopic, Singer Aretha Franklin wants a little-known Broadway star to portray in an upcoming biopic after Halle Berry went on paper.

The legendary singer has her eye on Patina Miller, the musical star Whoopi Goldberg’s Sister Act, for the role of the young Aretha – among others.

She says: “Finally we have the funding, we have the right of producers that I’m waiting for the script … And there’s a new girl in today’s game -. Girl from Sister Act Whoopi

“There (also) Fantasia (Barrino), there is Jennifer (Hudson), then the producer has some ideas.”

The singer plans to respect the talents of Miller’s visit in person when visiting Sister Act Sunday (01May11).

Franklin recently suggested that Halle Berry portrayed in the film, but the X-Men star refused, insisting he did not feel comfortable taking part because she could not sing.

The singer also has some other important ideas cast – that he would like Denzel Washington to play her father and Iron Man star Terrence Howard to portray Smokey Robinson.
