Apple Cup 2010, Thursday, December 2, Male Asian elephant Chai predict the winner of the 2010 Apple Cup. Crimson and gray or purple and gold do not matter much to the zoo elephants at Woodland Park, but apples do. Chai choose a bunch of apples from one of two boxes adorned Dawgs and gift wrap Coug. The first bone of the elephant 31-year-old takes a bite mark to take the Cup winner from Apple.

The prediction pachyderm is part of the zoo’s special admission discount Apple Cup. Now through December 5, fans of Huskies and Cougars get half fare on the zoo if any sports gear from the University of Washington or Washington State University, as a shirt, sweatshirt, a hat or gloves, or by showing a valid student ID at the two universities.
